like in the end I honestly don’t see the “big deal” with some of the costumes but because somebody does (to the point where they poured a lot of money into a national ad campaign, with probably means they have a lot of people who agree with them + are probably really offended by some of these things!), I’ll be respectful about their beliefs and try not to offend them! (wow! what a concept!) What I won’t do is argue how it isn’t offensive and how they are stupid for being offended because that’s the sort of thing the bad guy would do.
